Metamorphic Winds was formed in 2003 in order to perform all genres of woodwind chamber music in styles ranging from classical to jazz to light pop. Our members are multiple woodwind specialists who perform in the pit orchestras of Broadway theaters as well as area orchestras and chamber ensembles. By forming Metamorphic Winds we hope to inspire composers to write for our unique instrumentation.
Eddie has played in the orchestras of over one hundred shows on Broadway in New York City. He is currently performing with “Three Penny Opera” on Broadway .After earning his Bachelor of Music degree at Brooklyn College/CUNY, Eddie embarked on a career that has also included performances and/or recordings with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Orpheus and Concordia Chamber Orchestras, the Tony Awards Show Orchestra and a wide range of familiar names such as, Aretha Franklin, Jonathan Butler, Natalie Cole and Liza Minelli. Eddie has also appeared on “Today” and “Good Morning America”.
Chris most recently performed in the orchestra of “The Producers” in New York City. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Loyola University New Orleans and her Master of Music degree from the Julliard School of Music. As a soloist and clinician, Chris has performed throughout the New York metropolitan area, at 2001 Clarifest in New Orleans, Georgia State University in Atlanta, the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Music Outreach programs in New York City, Rio de Janeiro and Portugal. She has held principal clarinet chairs in the Orquestra Sinfonica Brasileira in Brazil and Nova Philharmonia Portuguesa in Portugal as well as performed at the White House with the “President's Own” Marine Band. As a freelance player in New York she has performed with numerous Broadway shows and National Touring productions of “Falsettos”, “Miss Saigon”, “Phantom of the Opera” and “You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown”, and performs with or has performed with Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Patti Lupone, the Northeast Philharmonic Orchestra, North Jersey Philharmonic, Opera Northeast , and the Queens Symphony.
After earning a Bachelor of Music degree from Boston University and a Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music, Mikki moved to Florida to perform with the Sarasota Opera Orchestra. Cast in an Off-Broadway musical, she relocated to New York City. Currently, Mikki substitutes in the orchestras of Broadway musicals, including the “Lion King”. She has toured most of Asia, Europe and the United States with several different Broadway shows. She also performs or has performed with numerous orchestras, including Florida Orchestra, Naples Philharmonic, DiCapo Opera, Metropolitan Repertory Ballet Orchestra, Warner Brother's Symphony, Pittsburgh Ballet Orchestra, among others. Mikki has helped develop and perform educational programs with ensembles on the roster of Young Audiences of New York, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. She writes and performs original music as the Minstrel in “Bard and MInstrel Storytellers”, and is the music contractor for JestMaster Productions, Inc. She can be heard performing with the Kalmen Opperman Clarinet Choir on Richard Stoltzman's recording “Aria”, and has appeared on “Today” and “Good Morning America”.
Chad earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from West Chester University, and a Master of Music Degree from the Eastman School of Music. Prior to moving to New York, Chad toured with several Broadway shows. He is currently substituting in orchestras on Broadway and at the Papermill Playhouse in New Jersey where he specializes on the low reed instruments. Chad also performs with the Harrisburg and Lancaster Symphonies in Pennsylvania. As a saxophonist, he has won many prizes in concerto competitions including semi-finalist in the Kingsville International Competition. Chad is featured playing bassoon and baritone saxophone on various cabaret albums in New York City as well as a recent motown revival recording of “The Miracles”. |
