Later on, pushcarts and kiosks were operated at malls and festive marketplaces, with a new product line, a family of handcrafted wooden topological puzzles. A test catalog with additional products, a large folded sheet in two colors, was printed and distributed to pushcart patrons. It proved very popular. A few successful ads in big publications convinced Jon the time was right for a real catalog. The JON FOOLERY COMPANY catalog was born, in a full color magazine format boasting hundreds of Unique Unusual Useables. One hundred thousand catalogs were sent out and the response was phenomenal for a new company. The small staff filled orders from all over America and the world. About 5000 Valentines Day supplements were sent to customers. Eventually, JON FOOLERY became known as one of the premiere places to find puzzles of all kinds. Despite the success of the catalog, TV appearances and much publicity the unfortunate reality of the economy made it too expensive to print additional catalogs. So JON FOOLERY was put on hold while Jon focused on his other enterprises, primarily his entertainment company, Jon Koons Productions, Inc.

When Jon Koons Productions opened YE OLDE CAMBRIDGE JESTERS ACADEMY at the New York Renaissance Festival, Jon Foolery was renamed JESTMASTERS FOOLERY SHOPPE and became the Academy's retail shop. While FOOLERY SHOPPES popped up at faires and in theater lobbies, Jon Koons Productions, Inc. was renamed JESTMASTER PRODUCTIONS, Inc., putting everything under the JESTMASTER banner. With a combination of performing supplies, puzzles and other unusual gift items Jon found the right recipe for both performers and gift buyers.
